Bioparc Valencia is a zoological park opened on February 27, 2008 replacing the Valencia Zoo of Viveros, founded in 1965. It was created by the company Rain Forest Diseño S.L., its design conceals the barriers between the public and animals (cages, fences, etc.), giving the sensation that the visitor enters the habitat of the animal.
It is a place specialized in African fauna, and divided into four zones representing four biomes: dry savannah, wet savannah, forests of Equatorial Africa and Madagascar.
It has more than 100,000 square meters of surface with capacity to house more than 4,000 animals of 250 different species.
Amongst the animals that can be found it could be highlighted: the lion, the different types of lemurs, such as ring-tailed, red-faced, red-bellied, flamingos, crocodiles, turtles, royal pythons, Dumeril boa, hippopotamus Pygmy, jungle dwarf buffalo, pelican, gorillas, and a long etc that if you want to know them, you will have to go visit and see it with your own eyes.
This space is located on the Mediterranean coast, at the west end of the Turia Garden.
